Il regista Peter Jackson, intervistato da ComingSoon.net a seguito della conferenza stampa su District 9, ha anticipato che ci sono diversi episodi delle avventure di Tintin che gli piacciono molto, ma che i due albi che portarono Tintin e amici sulla Luna molto prima della NASA, verranno trasformati in film solo con il terzo o il quarto episodio cinematografico. Il che offre l'impressione che i due registi intendano navigare, insieme al giovane giornalista belga, con film in 3D, piuttosto a lungo nel tempo.
